Teletherapy allows your child to receive high-quality therapy services from the comfort of your home using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform (such as Zoom). Services are provided in real time by your child’s therapist and are designed to be interactive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
To participate, you will need a computer or tablet with a camera, microphone, and a reliable internet connection. A quiet space with minimal distractions is recommended to help your child stay focused and get the most out of each session.

Because this is pediatric therapy, a parent or caregiver must be present during sessions to assist with participation, support engagement, and help carry over strategies as needed. Your involvement is key to your child’s success with teletherapy.

Teletherapy has been shown to be effective for many speech, occupational, and physical therapy needs, and is a convenient option for families with busy schedules, transportation challenges, or limited mobility. If you are unsure whether teletherapy is the right fit for your child, we offer consultations to help guide that decision.
Insurance coverage for teletherapy varies by plan, and some providers have specific requirements. We recommend checking with your insurance company, and our team is happy to help you determine your benefits. Teletherapy is always available as a private pay option.

Due to licensing regulations, teletherapy services are currently available to Missouri residents only. We are also working to expand in-home therapy options for families in the Jefferson County area—stay tuned for updates!
When you call to schedule an appointment, our team will gather information through an intake process. This helps us better understand your concerns and tailor the evaluation to your child’s specific needs. We will also collect insurance or payment information to determine eligibility and coverage. Once a physician’s referral is received, we will schedule the evaluation—this is typically a quick and simple process.
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment to ensure all required information is completed, as evaluations cannot begin until intake paperwork is finalized.
Evaluations typically last 1–2 hours, depending on the complexity of your child’s needs. During the evaluation, your therapist will use a combination of standardized assessments, informal observations, and a parent/caregiver interview. We strongly recommend that a caregiver who knows the child best attend the appointment to provide valuable insight.
Following the evaluation, a comprehensive report will be completed and shared with you and your child’s referring physician. Your therapist and front office will discuss recommendations for therapy and help schedule ongoing sessions. Depending on your insurance plan, authorization may be required before treatment begins.
Our team is here to support you every step of the way—please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions about the process.

We want our families to feel informed and confident when choosing how to pay for therapy services. Not all insurance plans are created equally, and coverage can vary significantly. In some cases, using insurance may result in higher out-of-pocket costs or limitations in care compared to private pay. We encourage you to review your individual benefits prior to scheduling so you can make the best decision for your family. If you need help understanding your coverage, our team is always here to assist.
When using insurance, therapists are required to follow specific guidelines related to evaluation, treatment, and medical necessity. This means services must meet certain criteria to be covered, and treatment plans must align with insurance requirements. While this works well for many children, some may not qualify for coverage if their needs do not meet these guidelines—even when concerns are present. In these cases, it does not mean there is no difficulty; rather, it means the concern falls outside of what insurance defines as medically necessary.
Private pay offers a more flexible, patient-centered approach. Without insurance restrictions, therapy can be fully individualized to your child’s needs, allowing for more comprehensive goals and greater focus on functional outcomes. There are no authorization requirements, and families and therapists can work together to create a plan of care that addresses all areas of concern.
Our goal is to support you in choosing the option that best fits your child and your family. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions—we’re happy to help guide you through the process.
